Union Minister Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar was cremated at the Lodhi Road crematorium in New Delhi on Saturday evening even as doctors who conducted her post-mortem called her death unnatural and sudden.
Sunanda's body was sent on Saturday morning to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for post-mortem. The doctors who did autopsy on her body claimed that Pushkar died between 3 & 7 pm on Friday. They, however, refused to answer the cause of her death and said her viscera has been preserved to ascertain possible traces of poisoning. Additional professor of Forensic medicines at AIIMS, Dr Adarsh Kumar said, "How can we rule out poisoning? We have preserved the viscera, we will have to wait for the test results."
