BBM Voice And Channels Reportedly Coming To Android And iOS

After BBM for Android and iOS, BlackBerry plans to bring its other renowned features on rival mobile platforms. According to a report by BusinessLine, Blackberry is all set to launch BBM Voice and BBM Channels on competing platforms. However, there is no word on the exact date of availability.
Late last year, we saw Blackberry introduce its popular messaging service for Android and iOS users. The company later disclosed that it witnessed more than 10 million downloads on the first day itself. The number increased manifold, and BBM was downloaded about 40 million times by the end of 2013. Probably to continue the momentum, the company now plans to bring its other features to the leading mobile platforms.
Let’s quickly brush through BBM Voice and BBM Channels. BBM Voice allows users to call/text anywhere in the world for free over Wi-Fi, provided both have access to BBM Voice. While on a BBM Voice call, users can still respond to BBM messages, check emails or even access other apps. Just like other some messaging services, it shows the BBM Voice icon beside a person’s name to indicate if the person is available.
